It's been a busy World Tapir Day around the world. If you haven't been able to keep up with everything that has been happening, here's a summary of events.
Please contact us if there's something that we haven't listed here (with a link to further information). This page will be updated as more information is available, so please be certain to check back occasionally to find out what else happened to celebrate World Tapir Day.
In the media
- World Tapir Day received extensive coverage in Australia, courtesy of Fitzy, Claire and Jules, with drive-time coverage for over a week. Fitzy visited the Adelaide Zoo's four tapirs, produced radio advertisements to raise tapir awareness, made t-shirts with slogans about tapirs, they recruited cheerleaders, celebrated in style with a cake, and generally raised the profile of tapirs.
- Fitzy also promoted World Tapir Day on the Ten Network's 7pm Project, a prime-time variety program.
- Elsewhere around the world, World Tapir Day received media coverage in a broad range of publications.
Online
- In the online world, World Tapir Day was the theme for First Dog on the Moon's cartoon of 27 April:

- In the Blogosphere, Flickr's blog post for 27 April was about World Tapir Day.
- Cute Overload recognised the inherent cuteness of tapirs, once again.
- Splash Damage, long-time tapir lovers, once more got fully behind World Tapir Day, including sending BongoBoy out Trundling for Tapirs.
